According to Copper Canyon Press, publisher of David Lee's much-sought-after collection Porcine Canticles and Yuan Mei's seminal I Don't Bow to Buddhas, the Chinese character for poetry is made up of two parts: word and temple. I don't know. It looks for all the world like one guy kicking another guy in the balls.
